This is one post where I think I bit off more than I could chew. There are sooooo many of them that I have no way of listing all of them here. So, I thought I would write up some things about some of them. As for availability, you can get them in several locations, at least for the moment. No clue how available any one of them will be at or near Christmas time.

For the console itself, they are definitely available in several hard drive sizes. It seems to me that if you are spending that much money on a console that you would want to do your research about the best deal all around. I do realize that sounds so basic but there are folks who do not do that and wish they did. For me, if I were going to buy one, I would want something with a lot of space. I have seen anything from a 20GB (I would not waste my time or money) to 160GB. The prices I saw ranged from £200 up. The best deal was one that’s around £250 with a game pack that will be available on Nov. 30th but they want a pre-order to insure availability.

Games. My goodness there are a lot of them.

For sports fans, especially basketball, there’s a new release called NBA 2K9. They say there is an improved dribbling system and you can change your shots in midair..which would definitely be a selling point for me. Great graphics, a player scouting system and more customization than before. Other features are too numerous to mention here but it appears to be a fantastic buy for yourself or that special sports fan in your life.

LEGO Batman looks like a lot of fun. You can be Batman, Robin or one of the 12 nasty villains. The weapons will be unique to the character. Characters can be customized for much more fun, environments can be built and transformed. Special superhero powersuits with new moves make this game one that will keep you busy for hours. Designed for two players.

Silent Hill: Homecoming–new to PS3. The newest chapter in the ongoing story. New graphics bring this place to life like never before while solving deadly puzzles to learn the dark secrets of Silent Hill. This one has a price of $56.99 where I looked.

For hunting fans, this one is definitely for you! Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2009 has it all. You hunt dangerous animals but watch out since they are also hunting you! This is a completely unpredictable environment full of unknown dangers like piranha infested waters, avalanches and stampedes of elephants. Don’t miss your shot at the beast or you might have to fight it with a melee defense. Oh, and watch the area. There may be another animal about to attack with the first one. Savage animals..lions, grizzlies, jaguars and many more.

That’s it for now but you get the idea. There are far too many titles to mention here on one post. However, I will be mentioning others from time to time.

Sony has today announced that two new LittleBigPlanet costumes will be made available for download in the future. Metal Gear Solid’s Old Snake and Final Fantasy VII’s Sephiroth have been stripped and their clothes donated to the LittleBigPlanet thrift store.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on when they will be made available, or whether they’ll be paid-for content. There’s also no definite answer to whether they’ll be available outside of Japan but, considering both games have large fanbases in the US and Europe, we’d be surprised if they didn’t. Check out Sephiroth’s Tokyo Game Show unveiling above and Old Snake’s after the break.

Kotaku today confirmed that littlebigplanet comes with a duel shock controller.

Taking a page from the Wii Play playbook, Sony is going to bundle one of its more popular upcoming games, LittleBigPlanet, with a DualShock 3. It’ll do it in Japan anyway, hoping that the Japanese video game consuming public will be awed by the woolen cuteness of Sackboy and bring some vibrating solenoids into their workaday lives. Price is just 7980 yen, about $79 in increasingly worthless U.S. dollars.

The desire of many gamers around the world to play with an efficient and technologically advanced console moved every manufacturer to create their own version using never before utilized gaming technology. Major gaming console manufacturers are on the peak of formulating their own versions of consoles that offers individual quality.

In the late 90’s, the console Sony released the first Playstation that

PS3 was first unveiled to the world on May 16, 2005 during the E3 conference. Other major makers like Nintendo and Microsoft are always on their watch to think of their possible console to equate with the PS3. Months after, these two major manufacturer unveiled their own version comparable to the PS3.

PS3 is scheduled to be released strategically to different major markets around the world. The release dates differs according to the place. PS3 will be first released in the Japan on November 11, 2006. This will be followed in the US on November 17, 2006. The release date for Canada is the same as in the US. The new console is expected to be out in the market of Australia and Europe by March next year.

The PS3 was first exhibited at a Tokyo Game Show in Japan last September 2006. Sony displayed 27 playable PS3’s and games just for the opening of the said event.   The world is preparing for the waited launching of PS3.

Many gaming enthusiasts asked about the said gadget and are on the way to actually acquiring one. Sony expects to sell plenty of PS3 not just in Japan but also around the world. The great appreciation of enthusiasts in the US will prove that PS3 will be highly acclaimed by the Americans despite the close competition with Nintendo and Microsoft.

PS3 has an upgradable hard drive, Blu-ray drive, HDMI port, Bluetooth controller, built in Wi-Fi and flash card readers. Ps3 fanboy recently had the chance to actually sit down, relax (possibly with a beer) and play the new updated version of the Sony Playstation 3 exclusive > LittleBigPlanet. The latest version is pretty much an exact replica of the complete game, and had the guys over at Ps3fanboy clamoring for the game even more than ever before. At the core of our latest hands-on experience was the game’s “Story” mode, an adventure mode with pre-designed levels that challenge players to get to the end with the highest score possible.

The levels they played were quite varied. Players will navigate a globe, littered with icons that represent where each level was created. Already, we saw a map that featured dozens of levels — an overwhelming amount of content has already been crafted during the game’s painfully long development. The adventure mode is where the game will teach players the essentials of LittleBigPlanet: each level will demonstrate the possibilities of the game’s incredible engine. Massive mechanical beasts, complex physics-based puzzles, and a number of fun playable gizmos can be found within each level. At the completion of these levels, players will unlock more and more things to use in their own creations.

We were surprised by how challenging each level can be. One level had us being chased by a contraption that threatened to steamroll us into oblivion. If the obstacles placed in front of us weren’t enough of a hindrance, the creature shot out fiery balls of charcoal at the characters — a single touch would char them to death. Yes, your critters can die — and they’ll die quite often!

This is pretty much as good as getting a key right? check out the video of the first 14 minutes of amazing Ps3 gameplay from the LittleBigPlanet beta, including the opening sequence, the tutorial (walk though) - narrated by English comedian Stephen Fry - and the run-through of the first level.

With demand crushing Eurogamers as the PS3 faithful tried to get one of 5,800 keys for the test.

Currently Playstation is fairly low in features if compared to Playstation Home. Using Playstation Life one can view the earth and at the same time can even zoom onto those 60 cities and even check out their weather news. The drawback is one where the users will be only able to know the current weather new and nothing for the forecast or for the past weather data. Moreover the news is provided by Agence France – Presse, which users feel that would have been much better if it had been from Reuters.

Users can use the Playstation Life service by pressing Folding@Home icon that is provided in the network column of the gaming console. Initially the offering from Sony included information, news in accordance to two different themes namely time and place. It even provides cloud images, photos of 60 odd cities, weather information as well. The services are provided with the help of Google, Earth Television Network, and The Weather Channel etc.

Playstation Life and Playstation home are two examples showing the strategy of Sony. Sony is promoting its gaming console as well as making it different for its users. The future of Playstation is that it will not just remain as a gaming console but will target the full family as one will be able to watch news, download videos, and watch high definition movies with the help of digital TV.
