LittleBigPlanet PSP exclusive

Posted by admin | Filed under: PSP

At the start of the year, rumors started to circulate regarding the possibility of the LittleBigPlanet game which is being released this month on the Sony PS3 will be released for the Sony PSP console. The game is allready very well known as one of the biggest releases for the PlayStation 3 this month or even this year, LBP is one of those games that will appeal to a very wide demographic, and due to Sony’s ambition to increase the level of connectivity between the PS3 and PSP, perhaps such an idea isn’t impossible and we could possibly see both platforms crossing over again for some super cool Little Big Planet adventures.

Just recently Playstation Games UK has found more evidence which can support the theory. As you can see by this job listing below, SCEE is currently on the prowl for a “PSP Game Engine Lead,” who will be responsible “for the design and implementation of key game components and the development of exciting new LittleBigPlanet projects.”

You would have thought this is where the ‘LittleBigPlanet release for Sony PSP‘ rumor ends, but Media Molecule boss Mark Healy spoke about the possibility of a portable version of LBP in a recent Eurogamer.TV interviewm in the interview, Mark said- “There’s definitely scope for a PSP version, we’ve had discussions and talks, [but] nothing concrete at the moment.” Putting such a huge game on both platforms would indeed be lucrative for Sony, but we have one question: if the game takes up over 40 gigs of space on a Blu-Ray disc, how exactly is it going to fit on PSP software? Will it be a toned-down version of the PS3 game? Or are we talking about an entirely new LBP project that is separate from the PS3 title that comes out on October 21st 2008? We admit to having plenty of questions, but such a job listing has got everyone talking. LittlebigPlanet is currently in beta right now.

We think that its possibly best to create a brand new LittlebigPlanet game for the Sony PSP console allthough this would take a lot of time possibly upto another year or so, we’ll keep you updated on the latest developments of the game for both Sony PSP and Sony PS3.

With the announcement of the new PSP-3000 model and more third-party developers starting to jump on board, Sony’s handheld continues to grow. To have a title like LittleBigPlanet as part of its library would be very very big indeed and would indeed boost sales.

Ps3 fanboy recently had the chance to actually sit down, relax (possibly with a beer) and play the new updated version of the Sony Playstation 3 exclusive > LittleBigPlanet. The latest version is pretty much an exact replica of the complete game, and had the guys over at Ps3fanboy clamoring for the game even more than ever before. At the core of our latest hands-on experience was the game’s “Story” mode, an adventure mode with pre-designed levels that challenge players to get to the end with the highest score possible.

The levels they played were quite varied. Players will navigate a globe, littered with icons that represent where each level was created. Already, we saw a map that featured dozens of levels — an overwhelming amount of content has already been crafted during the game’s painfully long development. The adventure mode is where the game will teach players the essentials of LittleBigPlanet: each level will demonstrate the possibilities of the game’s incredible engine. Massive mechanical beasts, complex physics-based puzzles, and a number of fun playable gizmos can be found within each level. At the completion of these levels, players will unlock more and more things to use in their own creations.

We were surprised by how challenging each level can be. One level had us being chased by a contraption that threatened to steamroll us into oblivion. If the obstacles placed in front of us weren’t enough of a hindrance, the creature shot out fiery balls of charcoal at the characters — a single touch would char them to death. Yes, your critters can die — and they’ll die quite often!

We know your all looking for LittleBigPlanet beta codes, which can be a frustrating process right now since Sony are offering very little to keep it extra exclusive, but do keep in mind the game comes out October 21st, less than a month away. Pretty soon, we’ll all get to experience LBP for ourselves.

Apparently there are some more, available on sites such as Joystiq and other popular gaming networks.
