The Sony Playstation 4

Posted by admin | Filed under: General, Playstation, Sony

All the buzz right now is about the Sony Playstation 3 but with the Sony PSX, the PS2 and now the PS3 it begs the question is there going to be a 4th console in the series and if so when? Playstatic are guessing its going to be around 2010, I think the fact that Sony’s expected life time of the Playstation 3 console is an estimated 10 years. The way that technology is going right now, a new console will have to launch within the next 5 years to keep updated with what video game software can provide for example, online gaming and gaming 3.0.

Right now the hoaxes have already started appearing on the web, with a classic ‘Rick roll’ appearing on Youtube stating.

“The playstation 4 was announced yesterday at a sony conference in Los Angeles.
Release date: TBA 2011″

This is however untrue, no one knows when the release date is going to be although rumors are currently flying around.

Something which popped up on a very well known and respected technology and gadgets blog back in 2006 before the PlayStation 3 wasn’t even out was Sony’s Phil Harrison’s wild speculations about the capability of Playstation 4. According to him, the PS4 won’t support physical discs. At all. He said: “I’d be amazed if the PlayStation 4 has a physical disc drive”,  which sounds crazy to me? My first thought would be digital downloads.

Pro evolution 2009 exclusive review

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 Video Trailer Official from Konami.

The latest series in the long line of pro evolution soccer games, the Play station 3 soccer game for 2009 has been completely re-developed from its less successful predecessor. Konami, the makers of pro evolution soccer 2009, had been heavily busy fixing known errors and investing a lot to input the best possible features in to the game.

Konami was able to secure a whole variety of deals to enhance the game, some which include deals to secure the rights to the UEFA Champion’s League and the rights to use Wembley Stadium in the pro evolution soccer game. These are exclusive rights to each respectively, signifying the level of improvement in the game. Pro evolution soccer 2009 not only offers a larger range of deal brought features, but it also offers plenty of in match benefits.

The ‘realistic’ approach has been taken to give the game a better stance than its nearest and biggest rivals FIFA football 2009. The developers have taken even a special focus on the physics of the game, with making ball contact with player and surface much more calculated and realistic. In addition to this, the same has been applied to different weather conditions, such as the ball will run more on a wet surface than a surface on a dry day. Furthermore, another positive to the game is the increase in skill usability.

Based on a player’s ability, new skills and techniques can be used to confound the opposition. This is a massive factor in a Pro evolution soccer 2009 player’s experience of the game as they are able to try out new things, test the limits, and push the boundaries. Some examples of new skills are being able to try out skills in close range, such as kicking the ball over a defenders leg in the smallest of seconds, and being able to flick balls up for extraordinary volleys.

As always, these skills are shown by an improvement of graphics in the game. Graphics are known to be a regular improvement in each game, but little do the graphics actually improve. This is a part of both for pro evolution soccer 2009. No actual mouth watering additions have been made, though the game has better details on players and an overall better running of matches.

Whilst buying the rights too many different features such as brands of Adidas, Nike and Puma, there also needs to be more in game features to use them. Such is the case with pro evolution soccer 2009, with better life like taste in the master league and a completely new feature called ‘Be a Legend’. The master league has a starting sense in how the actual world of football proceeds, with the transfer market, as teams are affected by deals in transfers that benefit them and vice versa.

Meanwhile, pro evolution soccer 2009’s brand new feature, Be a legend, is much like the normal feature in which you can take control of a manager throughout his career, instead, the game player gets to live the life of the footballer.

It is rather blatant that Konami have gone to leaps and bounds to improve Pro evolution soccer 2009, in which they have certainly prevailed.

The evolution of the playstation

A Playstation is a 32-bit video game console in the fifth generation. Way back in 1994, Sony Computer Entertainment was the very first company to get into Playstation series. The Playstation passion started with the hand-held gaming devices that had consoles as successors. First one of them was Net Yaroze and then started in series the yet another versions like “PS One” followed by-Pocket Station, Play station 2, Slimline PS 2, Play Station Portable (PSP), PSX, and Playstation 3.

By March 2005, the madden of a Playstation is such that the combined sales of Playstation and PS One were over 100 million consoles. In the history of Video gaming in the world, the Playstation has recorded one of the longest production runs. Sony announced the end of the Playstation production in March 2006.

The PlayStation was launched in Japan on December 3, 1994 and North America on September 9, 1995. The launch price in the American market was us$299 and Sony enjoyed a very successful launch with titles of almost every genre.
The PlayStation was also able to get interest with a series of campaigns of advertising. Many of the ads released at the time of launch were full of ambiguous content. This rendered many gamers rabidly debating their meanings.
During its production run, the PlayStation went through a number of variants, each accompanied by a change in the part number. The most notable change was the gradual reduction in the number of external connectors on the unit. This started very early on only.
Sony’s successor to the PlayStation is the backward compatible with its predecessor , he PlayStation 2, in that it can play almost every PlayStation game. This was done by embedding the PS one’s most important parts inside the PlayStation 2 design. The PlayStation 2 actually contains the original PlayStation processor, allowing games to run exactly as they do on the PlayStation unlike emulators that run on a PC. For PlayStation 2 games this processor which is called the IOP is used for input and output like memory cards, DVD drive, network, and hard drive. Like its predecessor, the PS 2 is based on hardware developed by Sony itself.

The third generation of the PlayStation was launched on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America which is known as the PlayStation 3 (abbreviated PS3). The PS 3 was initially backward compatible with almost all games that were originally made for PS 1, but due to the remotion of some components after the creation of the 40GB version whose capability is limited now to emulation. In PAL territories and later shipments in North America and Japan (40GB versions and after), however, the PlayStation 3 is not backward compatible in terms of hardware and so supports significantly fewer PS 2 games.

A PlayStation motherboard -MIPS R3000A-compatible 32bit with a RISC chip running at around 33.8688 MHz. The chip is made by LSI Logic Corp. with license from SGI. The chip also contains the Geometry Transformation Engine and the Data Decompression Engine.

Thus playstation is contributing in every area which you can think of be it business, ad, creativity or elsewhere.

Playstation 3

PS3 or Playstation 3 is the third gaming console from Sony. Now needless to say, Sony has turned out to be a big player in the gaming arena. Nintendo’s DS was the top gaming console rocking the west till Sony decided to launch its PSP model. Now the play station portable came in the optical disc format and had pleasantly bizarre multimedia capacity but the issue was one of PSP hacks which surfaced and rowed the gaming console intro various wars of digital management rights. That was past though. Presently Sony has come up with PS3 which is like an answer to Microsoft’s Xbox and Nintendo’s Wii. These are seventh generation gaming consoles. We must not forget that Nintendo’s game boy and game cube started the gaming console’s seventh generation.

The PS3has a unified online gaming service; the play station network is the name by which the service is known and it goes against Sony’s policy of non-reliance on game developers for online game mobilization. PS3 comes with rich multimedia capacity and a similar optical disc format to its predecessors. Primarily it stores files through blue ray disc.

Sony has dutifully enabled the operating system for PS3 to be updated. The updates can be feasibly downloaded straightaway from the play station network and to the PS3 and further installed from the formal website of the play station to the PC. Many updates can be downloaded from game discs.

The PS3 comes with a great graphical user interface which makes the experience of playing games that much higher. It becomes a complete world in itself replete with doses of virtual reality. So if there is a game to be played, PS3 provides you all the ways of sensationalizing it. Be it the prison or the prison guards, the green golf turf or the golfers, the granary stores or the traffickers. Each thing is melodramatically highlighted through a powerful multimedia. Downloading music, videos, files are just as easy to do through various compatible portals. There is a one time membership fee but it is all worth it. What must be kept in mind though is that peer-to –peer programs are an unreliable method of file sharing and jam the PS3 with various Trojans and viruses. Further the quality of file largely suffers.

Another thing which should delight the users is the fact that PS3 is also homebrew compatible and hence a lot many hacks can be shoved into the PS3 hardware. What it does is make the PS3 run a certain number of unassigned codes and open the doors to far higher internet resources and multimedia capacity. Imagine the opportunity of downloading music of far higher quality, downloading videos on a far bigger range; all this and much more can be easily arranged through the PS3 Hacks. Sony is shouting indictment for the hackers and is trying its bit to consistently upgrade the firmware but the chances of such an up gradation matching the skills of hackers are remote. Users want a maximum from their PS3 and they do not mind Sony’s declaration quoting a cancellation of warranties for PS3 machines running modified codes.

Playstation life exclusive review

The community of gamers has been the one that has been growing consistently and it’s even improving with time. Most of the game as well as console making companies are trying to cash the maximum out of it by introducing new and improved games as well as consoles to the gamers. It has been scientifically proved that games broaden one’s mind and gives his thinking a new dimension. Gamers all around the world exist from age ranging from 15 years to 45 years. So to promote games to the people of that range, companies like Sony, Microsoft, Atari, and Nintendo have come forward.

Sony offers Playstation, which has made a big success since the time of its launch in December, 1994. Till date, there have been three versions launched from which Playstation 3 is the latest one. In an attempt to promote their console, Sony has been working on many projects like Playstation Home, Playstation Life. Playstation Home provides the Playstation network with a service that is based on a network. It features creation of customized apartments as well as avatars by each user.

Playstation Life on the other hand is a new online service launched where its users will be able to get information, news and know about weather as well with the help of their PS3 (Playstation 3) console. The only thing the users have to do is to just connect to the service and surf for the relevant information they are looking for. Initially the Playstation Life users will only be able to check the weather of 60 odd cities all around the globe. Users will be able to download videos of their own choice from a huge collection provided.

Currently Playstation is fairly low in features if compared to Playstation Home. Using Playstation Life one can view the earth and at the same time can even zoom onto those 60 cities and even check out their weather news. The drawback is one where the users will be only able to know the current weather new and nothing for the forecast or for the past weather data. Moreover the news is provided by Agence France – Presse, which users feel that would have been much better if it had been from Reuters.

Users can use the Playstation Life service by pressing Folding@Home icon that is provided in the network column of the gaming console. Initially the offering from Sony included information, news in accordance to two different themes namely time and place. It even provides cloud images, photos of 60 odd cities, weather information as well. The services are provided with the help of Google, Earth Television Network, and The Weather Channel etc.

Playstation Life and Playstation home are two examples showing the strategy of Sony. Sony is promoting its gaming console as well as making it different for its users. The future of Playstation is that it will not just remain as a gaming console but will target the full family as one will be able to watch news, download videos, and watch high definition movies with the help of digital TV.

There have been many successful games like Need For Speed Most Wanted (Black Edition), Counter Strike 1.6, Age of Empire, and Quake III etc. all the games are best in their own dimensions in the way they are played. Chain of Memories is a game developed by Square Enix all set to be launched in United States on 2nd December, 2008. It will be available in the US market for 30 $ and it is considered to be one of the much awaited games. Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories is a sequel of Kingdom Hearts and has been directed by Tetsuya Nomura. The previous launch of the game that was in Japan was a huge hit with 104000 copies sold in just 2 days. Till date 1.5 million copies of the game have been sold worldwide.

The game features a unique aspect where the player can increase maximum health and card points using the experience point system. It can be achieved by winning cards from battles known as map cards. These map cards determine the difficulty level of the opponents. The three type of map cards are according to the color: Red map card, Blue map card, and Green map card. There is a distinction in the use of the cards as using a red map card decides the level and the number of opponents. Green map card provides the player with power at the deck. In the end Blue map card provides the player with the freedom to choose between saving point or treasure chest.

Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories continues from the point where the 1st version of the game ended. The main character being Sora and his friends includes Jimmy cricket, Donald, and Goofy. Many of the opponents have been directly taken from the first sequel of the game. The game can be played in two modes. The first mode features the game as Sora the main character and after the game is completed once, and then Riku can also be used using Rebirth mode. The game has been made for PS2 (Playstation 2) from Sony. The unique feature of card based battle has received a mixed response but in all the game has received positive response from its users as well as critics.

Playstation home exclusive review

Apart from our physical world, there is another world. Things there are totally different in terms of the environment, features, people etc. that is the world of Games. From racing down the track to breaking away from the jails, from flying in the space to solving cases, games are full of innovation and creativity. So many companies have come forward to provide the community of gamers the best games as well as game consoles. Different consoles by different companies are Sony - Playstation, Microsoft - Xbox, Atari – Flashback. The most popular of the ones is the offering from Sony.

Playstation 1 was launched in 1994 and since then Sony has come up with the better ones of the series, Playstation 3 (PS3) being the latest of the lot. Playstation gives its users the ability to play games, music files, video files etc. It was one invention that changed the concept of gaming and took it to a much higher level. The latest offering from Sony in terms of gaming is Playstation Home, which is a very innovative idea and which brings the gamers together. Developers of Home include Ubisoft, THQ, Rockstar Games, and Electronic Arts etc.

Playstation Home provides the Playstation network with a service that is based on community. It will provide the Playstation users the privilege of making their own custom avatars for their PS3 console. The idea of Home is that the users get to have a virtual life as well where they will be even able to create and design their virtual living space. The project was initialized for development in early 2005 and the official launch has been delayed with.

Playstation Home comes with many features and a very nice environment. Here after the customization of avatar and virtual apartments, one will be able to meet other users. They will be able to have text chat, voice chat, listen to music or even exchange data with them. Users will be able to invite the other users at their place for hang out. Apart from this Home even provides few games like pool, bowling etc. In addition to this, Sony has even been strict with the spam problem, it will track down the IP addresses of the consoles and would restrict them the connection of the services.

Playstation Home will provide its users with many features like communication, updating, and hall of fame which will increase the enthusiasm of its users. Hall of fame will give the users an opportunity to display their trophies that will be won by them in different games and tournaments. The number of trophies will decide the reputation and skills of a gamer. The communication part will be done with the help of headset, physical USB keyboard, virtual keyboard or using the emoticons. The updating option will be a great help to Sony as well as the users where new patches or changes will be made as well as the users will be able to upload any pictures in their space. So the latest offering from Sony will be a treat for a gamer and is expected to become very popular with the new age features.
