250GB Sony PS3 bundles confirmed
Posted by admin | Filed under: General, PS3, SonyThe speculation over whether the 250gb Playstation 3 is real or not has finally been ended. The 250GB PS3 will come in a bunch of bundles based on some of the consoles most popular software releases.
The first bundle will arrive on 1st October, retailing at £284.99. It will include any two of Sony’s platinum PS3 games or Infamous.
The second bundle will be released on 16th October and will include Uncharted 2 – Amongst Thieves.
A Blu-ray Movie Pack will also be available. It will include X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Dark Knight, along with Sony’s Blu-ray remote control.

Playstation Room coming to the Sony PSP
Posted by admin | Filed under: PSP, SonyAt this weeks Tokyo Game Show it was announced that Sony would be bringing an avatar-based social environment called PlayStation Room, to its PSP handheld games console.
Just like the PS3’s Home, PlayStation Room will let users build avatars, chat and network with other players in a virtual environment.
PlayStation Room will be available to the PSP via a firmware update later on in the year, and users can access the service via the Xross Media Bar navigation tool. As with Home on the Playstation 3, users can also design their own Room spaces and visit those of other players.
Sony is said to be happy with the success of Home on PS3 and claims that up to 35 percentof PS3 console owners have visited home at least once. Sony has long term plans for the service and wants developers to use the platform to engage with users around their games.

PS3 Motion Controller set for March 2010 release

It has been revealed that Sony’s PS3 motion controller will be released in Japan in March 2010. Worldwide sales of Sony’s new controller could be between 4-5 million.
Sony is also examining the IP offerings of various publishers and putting forward suggestions of games that would be suitable for integration with its new motion controller.
The Sony PS3 motion controller was announced at E3 2009. A Western release is still in the pipeline for spring 2010.
